Biography

Kevin Cowherd is a Senior Managing Director at Ankura, based in Nashville, TN.  He is the Practice leader for the Strategy and Performance business and has 30 years of experience working with business leaders designing and executing their digital strategies.  Kevin spent over 20 years at IBM and held significant leadership roles in professional services, IT, and Human Resources including the role of CIO for the IBM Learning division.  In that role he led the global transformation of IBM Learning, standardizing on industry leading technology while implementing a shared services model for scalable growth.

Kevin is focused on business transformation where digital strategy has a central role.  His ability to align leaders on the “why” of the transformation and bring functional teams together in new ways are key capabilities that he brings to every engagement.  As a technical and business leader he has a significant track record of designing or validating digital strategies then structuring the teams, work, and approach to achieve the desired end state.  He can help clients achieve new ways of working, optimize their organizational structure, and right size the organization to best support the digital strategy.  Kevin leads digital transformation engagements for his clients across many industries including financial services, manufacturing, professional services, logistics, and consumer services.

Kevin left IBM after 22 years and began consulting after graduating with an Executive MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.  He was an executive with c3 Consulting before joining Ankura Consulting Group as a Senior Managing Director in 2018.  Today he leads the Strategy and Performance practice working with Fortune 500 and private equity-backed companies to transform their businesses.
